Every couple hits walls. The same arguments on repeat. The emotional distance that grows so slowly you barely notice it until one day you realize you're more like roommates than partners. The feeling that you're being heard but never truly understood.
It doesn't have to stay that way.
I'm Lee Pelletier, a New York Licensed Mental Health Counselor with specialized training in couples therapy, including the Gottman Method, one of the most research-backed approaches to relationship healing available today.
Not all couples therapy is created equal.
The Gottman Method is built on more than 40 years of research studying what actually makes relationships succeed or fail. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this approach identifies the specific patterns that damage relationships and gives couples concrete, proven tools to replace them.
This means your therapy won't be guesswork. It will be grounded in real science about how couples connect, disconnect, and reconnect.
Most couples wait too long. You don't have to.
Research shows the average couple waits six years after serious problems begin before seeking help. That's six years of distance, resentment, and missed connection building up. The good news is that couples who commit to the work can and do recover, even from significant damage.
I have worked with couples facing communication breakdown, chronic conflict, emotional withdrawal, betrayal recovery, parenting stress, ADHD-related relationship strain, and the quiet drift that happens when life gets too busy for connection.
Wherever you are right now, there is a path forward.

Sessions are collaborative, practical, and focused on real progress. You will leave each session with something useful, not just things to think about.
I combine the Gottman Method with Solution Focused Couples Therapy to help partners build on what is already working while directly addressing what isn't. The goal is not to assign blame. The goal is to help you understand each other better and build something stronger together.
All sessions are conducted via telemental health, making it easy for both partners to attend from wherever you are in New York State.
A free discovery call costs you nothing and could change everything. Let's talk about where your relationship is, where you want it to be, and whether working together makes sense.
